I grew up in Manheim, Pennsylvania, in the heart of Lancaster County with my parents and older brother. Growing up, I loved spending time with my family and was always telling stories and making them laugh; much to my brother’s delight! I had a notebook beside my bed that I jotted down poems and short stories in. It was always my dream to become a published writer.
Today I live in the coolest small town in America, Lititz, Pennsylvania, with my husband, two kids, and two dogs surrounded by amazing family and friends. I constantly try to find time to write stories that parents and children can relate to, all the while trying to maintain that tricky work/life balance. My kids inspire me daily to reach for the stars and allow me to dream bigger like I used to as a child. My husband is my partner and biggest fan encouraging me and supporting me by listening to the initial drafts of stories, and even providing his own story ideas for me to mull over. My parents still encourage me to follow my dreams, but secretly are happy the money they spent on college is finally paying off! No really, they have always supported my writing aspirations and I am so thankful they are here to see it come to fruition.
I would be remiss not to mention Cathy Gust, my kindergarten teacher, who has become a sounding board as I craft stories. Cathy has provided invaluable insight and feedback by taking the time to read revised versions of not only SOAR, but other manuscripts that I have in the works. Another instrumental person in my journey is Chuck Rineer, author of Wolf Sanctuary: The Wolves of Speedwell Forge. Chuck offered tremendous insight on getting a book published which you can read more about in my blog: Pursuing a Dream of Writing.
My lifelong aspiration to become a published author has come true with SOAR. I am excited to share this beautiful story with families as they experience Ramone’s incredible journey. Thank you to the many people in my life who encouraged me to follow my dreams and allow me to SOAR!
